Etai's Castle
----------------
In Etai’s Castle, two performers sit in their room surrounded by colorful fluorescent lamps. The audience sits around 360 degrees and "peeks" into the house of the two performers. They are exposed to their world almost like guests in their house.
Do we live in a house or apartment? With a balcony or a yard? Do we have siblings? Do we have a mom and dad at home? Maybe just a mom? Or two dads? What foods do we eat at home? What languages do we speak at home? How did we / do we cope with these current Covid-19 times? The show deals with the concept of home. Through movement, singing and text, the two performers give you an insight to how they live, their homes, hobbies and families, fantasizing where they dream of living. In a playful way, the performers offer the children to get involved and share their personal experiences.
Etai’s Castle is realistic and down to earth, simple, accessible and draws
many references from famous legends and movies.
It is portable, flexible and adapts itself to any time and place.
This show is suitable mostly to children 4 -10 years of age and their parents.
There are 2 versions of the work, a hebrew speaking version and currently working on an English speaking version, which will have different cultural references etc. This version will be ready summer 2023.
